Visually inspired by the liminal space where land meets the sea, this body of work in an exploration in blurring the line between surface and form.

Working with a variety of natural aggregates, handmade grogs, and various ceramic materials, this series delves into pushing clay from being expressed merely as the form in which decoration sits on, instead moving past the surface to give the sense the pot itself is formed from stone.

The glaze design compliments this sensation, leaving swaths of the textural surface exposed, like waves receding on a beach.
